My name is Maya, and I have been practicing massage for over ten years. I have recently relocated here to Fort Myers, Florida where I have been vacationing since I was a teenager. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Florida and practice out of my beautiful office here in Fort Myers. I was born in Kathmandu, Nepal and came to the United States at the age of 12.  I was introduced to massage as an infant.  Massage is an integral part of the Nepali culture where mothers begin to massage their infants almost from the day they are born. I take my education very seriously and endeavor to keep abreast of new theories and practices regarding massage therapy and physiology. I have continued my education by participating in classroom studies as well as seminars each and every year since graduating from massage school. Some of the courses that I have taken include courses in plantar fasciitis, temporomandibular joint disorder, edema, deep vein thrombosis, reiki, sciatica pain, headache causes and trends, active isolated stretching, shoulder dysfunction, and lymphatic drainage massage . I am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and have been certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
